“I am the LORD, I change not.” (Malachi 3:6)

“For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.” (Jesus, Mark 4: 22)

I was speaking recently to a friend that sometimes I feel like I’m a completely different person from the one who gets up in the morning. I know I’m not changing yet it seems like I am. What’s going on?

I met a friend recently and she asked me whether I was happy with my life. I said I was. Later I pondered over the concept “happiness.” What’s happiness got to do with anything? I am always the same. I’ve noticed that no matter what is going on around me I feel the same. I am neither happy nor sad, more blissful.

The other day on the bus there were two American tourists behind me so I pretended I was a tourist and looked at London with new eyes, of wonder, the way a child does. You know I noticed lots of things I’d never noticed before. The thing is they were always present I just hadn’t noticed them. We see through Mind or what is in thought not necessarily what is there. What you notice are thought-forms flagged up to mirror what you have in thought. On the other hand when you are in Silence and connected to all, or if your intention is to see the world afresh, this is what you end up seeing.

So London hasn’t changed at all, the world doesn’t change it just reveals more of itself. In the same way though I appear to change I am simply Self unfolding Self. As Self I never change.

Imagine if I were to decide I wanted to get to know the whole of London, every nook and cranny! I won’t be going anywhere else for a very long time. What about getting to know the earth? We’re talking about hundreds of lives. Now Self is infinite. How long do you think it’s going to take to know Self? Eternity. The good news is we can always know Self through the Silence. In the Silence all is known. The Silence then reveals aspects of Self every day. Within Silence exists all answers, all possibilities and I only need to attune myself by being in Silence, trust in Self and let Self do the work. Self is forever being Self.

I am Love, I change not
I am Truth, I change not
I am Life, I change not
I am Good, I change not
I am Bliss, I change not
I am That I am, I change not

Am I happy? Happiness is irrelevant.

I am the Lord, I change not.

  1. Though this message might have started with Bible verses, it is emphasizing on Self Actualization, which i think is contrary to what the Bible teaches us.
The Bible clearly tells us to:
-Put our trust in the Lord and not anything or anyone else including ourselves.
-We can do anything through Christ who strengthens us (Not by our own might).

Furthermore, the title, “I am that I am” can only be used by God. Only God is self-sustaining and eternal. Man cannot exist without God, therefore we have no right to that title.
Likewise “…I change Not”, is never mentioned by any man in the Bible. Only God says these Words.

Unless i have misunderstood the words contained here, i do not agree with with it.

    Thank you for your comments.

You’re spot on. The Lord is the Self and those on the path of self-realisation realise the Lord as their real Self.

If you don’t agree with this then that’s wonderful. Trust in what resonates as truth for you.

    All the very best.

    With love,
