“Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” (Psalm 23: 5-6)
I believe God/Unlimited Good is all there is. What exactly does this mean?
Last night while I was doing the washing up in a bowl, I decided to leave a baking tin to soak for a while. I filled it with water but the water seeped through as it had tiny holes at the bottom. There was only one thing to do, immerse it in the bowl. So I filled the tin to the brim and let it overflow until there was enough water in the bowl to cover the tin. I suddenly realised that I was witnessing the Truth of Reality – “Unlimited Good/God is all there is” – in action.
In this piece I’m going to use another synonym to describe Unlimited Good – Universal Energy (UE).
The water filling up the tin and overflowing into the bowl is UE; and UE is limitless. UE is formlessness, pure energy. Within this UE is the essence of all there is and the intent to transmute the formless into forms. The baking tin represents the human instrument, a vessel created to receive and express UE. The holes represent the human instrument’s willingness to receive and express UE.
In the Bible, Paul writes:
“For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” (Acts 17: 28)
Paul is speaking about God as UE. This energy is like an ocean all around us. I am, we are all, swimming in the stuff. And it is the UE that is actually expressing through us. UE is life and it is UE that breathes us. UE is all there is.
In the human experience, we have been conditioned to see ourselves as programmes. You go through various programmes and then you die. The human experience is like a fish swimming in an ocean and oblivious to the ocean’s presence. We have unlimited UE all around us but we are oblivious to UE.
How can we live with a constant awareness of UE? We must be born again of the Spirit or UE. And no, being born again is not about going to church or joining some religion; one can be born again without being part of any religion. This is what Jesus has to say about being born again:
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3: 3-5)
To be born again is to realise UE is our true heritage. UE is our Parent and we are His offspring. We are one with UE. Real life is UE. There is nothing but UE. In other words, humans are not material beings dependent on the elements to survive; humans are Spirit/UE in manifestation.
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2: 13)
Now when I say “God is all there is,” I’m referring to God as Spirit or Universal Energy. It is God that is appearing as all forms; it is God that is working through all; it is God that is expressing life.
I have my being in an Ocean of Universal Energy.
I am Universal Energy in manifestation.
